Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio the Subject of Justice Department Allegations

The Justice Department has outlined several allegations of discrimination against notorious Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona.

Arpaio has become well-known nationwide for his hard-line stance against illegal immigration and his open advocacy of profiling Latinos for traffic stops based on suspicion of illegal residency.

At the time of this writing, the sheriff has yet to respond. But what seems certain is that this conflict will become yet another flashpoint in the legal battle over immigration in the United States.
